Lightview Plus is a wordpress plug-in which integrates Lightview into your wordpress blog and automatically changes all image links, so the images will open with lightview. Now, it is possible to show videos from YouTube and Vimeo with lightview.
Installation
- Copy the lightview-plus directory to the wordpress plug-in directory under /wp-content/
- Download Lightview javascript and decompress it
- Copy the directories „css“, „images“ and „js“ of the decompressed folder to /wp-content/plugins/lightview-plus/
- Activate the plug-in in the plug-in menu
- That’s it!
Update
To backup the lightview javascript on update, it is possible to activate a backup function in the options menu.
Embed Images
- Choose an image of your choice, as you have done it in wordpress many times
- Create a link with this image to a bigger version of this image
- All the rest is done from lightview-plus automatically
Examples for Images
Embed Videos
- Click the new button „Embed Video“
- In the pop-up choose the portal you want to use (at the moment only YouTube and Vimeo. More in one of the next version).
- Insert the video id
- Choose, if you want a link text under the video
- Enter the link text
- Click INSERT

FAQ
Nothing is opened with lightview?
In you theme the <?php wp_head(); ?> is missing. Please, add it.
Images are still not opened with lightview!
Maybe an other plug-in uses jQuery or an older version of prototype oder scriptaculous. Deactivate the plug-ins or let me know if you found an alternative.
I added images to my text, but they are not clickable and they are not shown with lightview.
You have to create a link to the image. E. g. create a link from the image to the same image or a bigger one.
Is there a jQuery version of lightview?
I am not the author of lightview. I have done a wrapper for wordpress. Please, ask the author of lightview and let me know about the alternative.

Ok so i have edited nothing, i use lightview 2.3. I must mention that i use a new installation of wp on a new site, so i imported posts that had no lightview flag anywhere. Might it be the reason?
I must say also that the plugin activate correctly, i see the new video button. For Lightview itself i downloaded using the link „i have a license“ to test yhe plugin(compare it to lightbox 2), might it be this?
hello, I am working on a website based on wp and I was interested in using your plugin which I found very good! Thanks for it! Some of my videos are posted in Dailymotion… is there an easy way that I can do that. I’ve read that you are planning to do in a future… Do you have an idea of the time it will take? My site is not ‚public‘ yet, the older version is still running and we want everything in shape before aering‘ it.

I had a look at dailymotion. I can’t find an API to get the preview images. Maybe you can find it.
I could not place an image with light view, can you tell exactly how you do it?
Hello, I’ve been using Lightview successfully on my site, but I just installed the Action PopUp and now the Lightview doesn’t work properly. I can’t get any help from Action Pop Up guy Robert Plank, so I was wondering if you can help me get them to work togther

In my case, the plugin caused IE to cease opening my webpage, which cut about 30% of visitors using the most popular browser. Is it a common mistake or some misunderstanding between Lightbox and jQuery plugins, for example?
I had to deactivate the plugin I liked so much. will be trying to install other Lightbox-based plugins

Hi. I’ve a small question about your plugin. Is there any option to exclude pictures from the gallery ? Because it takes all my pics from one day which is formed automatically by wordpress and i can’t find a manner to remove some pictures i want to post seperate from the gallery.

I have a problem. I use wp 1.7 and after I installed the plugin I check the settings for it.
On top I see a pink box that says the javascript and css arent in the plugin folder.
I looked to your instructions to install it but in the decompressed folder I only find libs, langs and img. I don’t see images,css or js :s

Hi Reinhout, look at the second step of the installation. Download the lightview javascript, decompress it and copy it into the plugin folder.
