Lightview Plus is a wordpress plug-in which integrates Lightview into your wordpress blog and automatically changes all image links, so the images will open with lightview. Now, it is possible to show videos from YouTube and Vimeo with lightview.
Installation
- Copy the lightview-plus directory to the wordpress plug-in directory under /wp-content/
- Download Lightview javascript and decompress it
- Copy the directories „css“, „images“ and „js“ of the decompressed folder to /wp-content/plugins/lightview-plus/
- Activate the plug-in in the plug-in menu
- That’s it!
Update
To backup the lightview javascript on update, it is possible to activate a backup function in the options menu.
Embed Images
- Choose an image of your choice, as you have done it in wordpress many times
- Create a link with this image to a bigger version of this image
- All the rest is done from lightview-plus automatically

Embed Videos
- Click the new button „Embed Video“
- In the pop-up choose the portal you want to use (at the moment only YouTube and Vimeo. More in one of the next version).
- Insert the video id
- Choose, if you want a link text under the video
- Enter the link text
- Click INSERT

FAQ
Nothing is opened with lightview?
In you theme the <?php wp_head(); ?> is missing. Please, add it.
Images are still not opened with lightview!
Maybe an other plug-in uses jQuery or an older version of prototype oder scriptaculous. Deactivate the plug-ins or let me know if you found an alternative.
I added images to my text, but they are not clickable and they are not shown with lightview.
You have to create a link to the image. E. g. create a link from the image to the same image or a bigger one.
Is there a jQuery version of lightview?
I am not the author of lightview. I have done a wrapper for wordpress. Please, ask the author of lightview and let me know about the alternative.

When I click on my youtube video, it opens up fine in lightview, except the video is small about 300px in width.
Is there any way of changing the size the output? And where would I go about doing it?

it works with single image but not with [gallery]
It looks like somthing have changed in the gallery hook. I will see what I can do for the next release.

I tested gallery-function again. I see no problem there. What’s your problem with the gallery-function?
Hmm, installed the plugin and got errors using IE 8. Is it only me?
Worked with Opera 10 beta, Firefox 3.0.11 and Safari 4.

this plugin works greately for me in WP 2.8 with images, but i have a problem with the videos: when i click on the specific button, in the little window appears only a Internal Server Error problem
I think you have to upload the plugin again.
i’m sorry to post again but that doesn’t work
and this is the only plugin that adds a simple button to post a video so i can let my newbies mates do that without calling me every time.
i tried disabling, deleting (also via ftp, just to be sure) Lightview Plus and also disabling every other plugin, but the resul is the same, in the small window appear a Internal Server Error that doesnt explain nothing
I need the error-message from the error-log from the webserver. Without an errormessage it is unimpossible to help.

This is not a problem of the lightview script. It is a problem of your server. Have a look in you suexec log.
I think the lightview plus scripts are owned from an other user than your suexec wants it

In the settings menu switch to google to load prototype and scriptacolous. And read the part at the lightview site about prototype and IE8!
For some reason its not working
When I try to insert a YouTube video by using the button on the toolbar (tinyMCE)
when view the post, its shows text „nolink“ when clicked it opens the lightview box, but there is no video.
Please help
